5 Supplements I Can’t Live Without

Supplements are great for filling in the gaps nutritionally. They can also provide your body with benefits you may not have otherwise.

There are only a few in my medicine cabinet that I can’t live without. These are the assistants to my daily nutrition and also help in sustainability.

While these can be beneficial to your daily intake, always make it a point to be mindful of all the supplements and vitamins that you take to make sure your not going over any recommended dose. Over intake of some vitamins can become toxic. So keep note.

5 Supplements I Can’t Live Without

Amazing Trio by Amazing Grass

This is made up of Barley Grass, Wheat Grass and Alfalfa and can help to supplement your daily green intake on those days I can’t get it in through food sources. While most days I do pretty well getting my greens in shakes, as a snack (yes I love a steamed green as a snack) or in a big salad, not everyday runs like that.

This applies to most people I would say.

So, for those days that are lacking I like to throw a dose into my shake and feel good about filling those gaps. This helps in providing natural energy, promotes detox, helps alkalize, aids in digestion and supports immunity.

It’s gluten-free, sugar-free, plant-based, organic and non-gmo. Kept refrigerated.

PB8 by Nutrition Now

Probiotics are amazing for gut health. I truly feel that everyone should seek them out. They are essentially, live microorganisms that can benefit both the body and the brain.

I have been taking this particular probiotic for a couple of years now and have noticed a difference in my gut health and digestion overall. Many foods that have been through a fermentation process can provide these “good” bacteria into your system as well, like tempeh, kimchi, yogurt, kefir etc.

This particular supplement is vegetarian and does not contain milk, gluten or soy. Kept refrigerated.

B-12 Organic Spray by My Kind Organics, Garden of Life

Let me just say that this brand is great as well as this spray. I keep this on hand for those days I need that extra little pick-up. One spray in the mouth and it gives a nice wave of natural energy. You mama’s out there (and dad’s) know that sometimes you need just a little extra nudge to pick up that third sprinkle of toys throughout the house or to get some motivation for that workout. This helps a ton!

And it tastes like candy! It is so yummy.

This is an organic whole food dietary supplement. It is vegan, non-gmo and gluten-free.

Super Collagen by Neocell

Now, I just recently shared my love for this product. (Read that here.) But I had to include it again since these are the supplements that I can’t live without. This stuff has made me feel brand-new.

My reason for trying it in the first place was because of some major joint pain I was having in my shoulder from previous injuries. The pain was getting worse over time and was limiting my movement and causing some sleepless nights from how uncomfortable I had become.

This collagen has brought life back to my shoulder and I no longer feel pain. Range of motion has returned and I sleep so much better.

Who wants to be in pain every-time they pick up their kiddos? Not me. This stuff is ahhh-mazing!

It can also assist with adding moisture to the skin and help fight the signs of aging within it, as well as benefit the hair, nails and bones.

This is non-gmo, gluten-free and paleo friendly.

Raw Vitamin C by Vitamin Code, Garden of Life

This is another repeat mention because I spoke of my reason for taking Vitamin C in this post as well! This is what I take alongside the collagen every morning.

Vitamin C helps in the absorption of collagen to the body.

This is a whole food supplement and also assists with immune system support, heart health, skin and eye health and also digestion.

This is raw, vegan, non-gmo and gluten-free.

That’s it!

These really are my life-savers and help me where I need it most. While I consider myself to have a healthy and balanced diet. This can help where I fall short because not all days are the same, right? We could all use a little boost sometimes.

  4. Miranda says:

Question, The major joint pain you were having in your shoulder from a previous injury, was it cartridge related or a broken bone? The reason I ask is my husband stopped working out years ago because every time he lifts weights he hurts his neck and shoulder from a previous injury (even though I have tried to get him to do physical therapy and other workouts instead of weight lifting he won’t unless he can get that pain to go away.)

    1. Hey Miranda! I actually broke my bone multiple times in the past and have had increased pain throughout the years. As if onset arthritis may have been in motion. This has helped to alleviate all of that. Collagen can also help with muscles, tendons and ligaments as well. It may be worth a try if the issue lies there. Hope this helps!☺
