“A simple fact that is hard to learn is that the time to save money is when you have some.”
We all love to save money right? If you don’t then you should. Every little extra penny helps in my opinion.
I tried couponing a few years back. Okay, maybe I had a slight obsession with that show Extreme Couponing and thought, ‘I can do this‘ and took on this challenge of receiving extreme savings. I learned some tricks but also came to the realization that this was too much work. Ha! I mean it is literally a full-time job finding the best deals, the best coupons, the best savings. It. Is. Insane.
I did however gain a considerable stock pile. Of which I am still working to rid my family of. I mean shortly after I gave up couponing I completely changed my views on personal care products, grocery items and everything in between. It was from that point on that I was only interested in purchasing things that were healthy and safe.
Nobody tells you with extreme couponing that it sort of becomes a game of, what you can gain with significant savings. Most of the time it’s stuff that is bad for you.
So, instead of couponing, I use money-saving apps every time I shop. It’s easier, faster and way more convenient than clipping coupons. I can gain a little extra money every time I go to the store and who doesn’t love that!
Here are my top six apps for saving a little extra cash:
This happens to be my newest app that I have been using and love it! This app turns your grocery receipts into rewards. There are over 250 brands to save on and rotating exclusive offers. I am so close to my first reward and only been using this app for a short time. Just scan your receipt and start gaining rewards!
Enter my referral code, UH7TW at the sign-up screen and you’ll get 2,000 Fetch Points ($2.00 in points!) when you complete one receipt. Sign up here.
Ibotta has been around a while but it’s a good one. It’s an easy, cash back rewards app. Tons of stores to choose from and even online deals. I have cashed out quite a bit on this app so it is worth it. Simply scan your receipt every time you shop! Minimum Cash Out is $20.
Enter my referral code, yjwpljl, and you can get a $10 welcome bonus! Sign up here.
Checkout 51 helps you to save money on brands you may purchase often. Every Thursday the list updates with new offers. Pick what items you want to save on, scan receipt and boom, cash back! Minimum Cash Out for this app is $20. Receive via check or link to Pay Pal.

If you shop at Walmart often than you need this. The best way to sign up for this is through the Walmart app. When you purchase from the store you scan the QR Code on your receipt and it will literally scan your local stores and offers. If they find a product that you purchased cheaper somewhere else they will refund you the difference! It’s their way of staying ahead of the game. Must-have app if this is your go-to store.

All my Target lovers need this one. I love this store and this app never fails me. If I’m shopping I can always find some extra savings. You just pick the offers that you want to use in a given shopping trip and have the cashier scan your bar code at checkout! Instant savings! Definitely worth a look if you haven’t already. I consistently save on kids clothes, diapers, make-up, you name it.

Retail Me Not
This one provides coupons and deals both in-store and online. I always give this a glance before shopping to see if any additional savings can be had at a particular store. I am an avid hobby store shopper and they always have the most recent coupons to use in store. Similar to the Cartwheel app, if using in store, you just pick your offers and have the cashier scan your phone at checkout!

It’s that easy!
Saving money doesn’t have to be difficult. We all shop so it makes sense to save wherever possible. These apps are my personal fave and have saved me tons. Whether you get a little money back in your pocket to buy that cute new top. Or you save a percentage off at checkout! It’s a worth it!
And sooooo much easier than clipping coupons…
