April faves are here!
As quickly as April came it went. I am still trying to grasp what exactly the month entailed. Ha!
Regardless, I can still say that I have come across some favorite things to share with you guys. Some have helped with personal wellness and maybe assisted with a little self-care.
These past few weeks have been full of sickly kids…now mom has joined the bandwagon as well, and we are just trying to keep it together. With energy low everything can feel like a challenge.
But regardless. the mom cape goes on (figuratively speaking) and I continue to adult and just get it done…because that’s what we do! High-five!
And let’s face it, everything would fall apart otherwise haha!
Anyway, here goes…

Sometimes it can be extremely difficult for me to turn off my head near bedtime. This is true for many people. As soon as you lie your head down you start to think. You think about the day you had, what you did and didn’t do of which leads into what’s to be done the following day and all that is on that schedule. This room & pillow spray has been great at calming the mind before bed. It’s toxin free and is relaxing. I truly appreciate the calming qualities of this spray.
Like many in their thirties, I have began to get a pesky gray hair here and there. Not much BUT more than I would care to have and so I opted to dye it. I have never been much of a dyer. I always liked my hair color as well as the tone it carries and have only dyed my hair once in the salon as well as once with a box over the years. With that being said I have to say I really liked this particular brand. I went with the color Mahogany Chestnut for some hints of red and I’m happy with it. It’s natural, which was an important factor for me. It does not contain any ammonia, parabens, silicones, paraffin, mineral oils, heavy metals, artificial fragrances, sls, formaldehyde derivatives or gluten! That’s a pretty solid hair color and it worked well. It was gentle on my hair and did what I needed it too.
I love rose water! I starting using it a couple of years ago and have since been hooked. This one specific to this brand is new to me but I am pleased. Rose water has many benefits. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It provides antioxidants while hydrating the skin and it can help to clean and tone as well. It’s worth using for so many reasons. I use it every evening in my nighttime skin care regime as well as throughout the day when my skin is feeling a bit dry. It’s wonderful.
While hitting up a second-hand store in my area for a project, I came across this book for just $2. It is full of natural cures and old-time remedies. In the days of Google and Kindle I still enjoy the art of opening an actual book. The smell, the feel of turning the pages as I go. Secondhand is a great way to find books of interest. (I found some great cookbooks on that trip as well. 😉) The last few weeks I have referred to this particular book quite a bit already with the family being a bit under the weather. So I would say that’s a score with the value it’s provided.
With Summer almost upon us, I have needed to update my wardrobe for the season. I love these particular sandals and had to get them. As I have simplified my closet quite a bit I have adopted the rule of always removing something (i.e. donate, sell) that I don’t wear and then replacing that item with new. This helps alleviate the excess and keeps things in my closet that I only wear. The mustard yellow is quite pretty, they feel cheerful and scream summer in my opinion and I can’t wait to wear them!
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed my faves for this month! Until next time…
Cheers to May!!!
